Ritual Abuse Network Scotland (R.A.N.S.) redesigns website.

A completely redesigned website is unveiled by the Ritual Abuse Network Scotland today.

The site provides a wealth of informed information and articles designed to provide unparalleled support for anyone who is a survivor of ritual abuse, is supporting survivors of ritual abuse, or who suspects ritual abuse may be taking place.

It also has a closed message board for the use of survivors only, an informer corner for reporting any suspicious activity, a news section, access to purchase resources and details of how to contact R.A.N.S. for more specific, one to one support.

A browse through the numerous articles will dispel many of the myths surrounding this controversial area, but more importantly, by recognising many of the practices of ritual abusers, will let survivors know that other survivors exist and that there is a way to free themselves from their tormentors.

The site is also an answer to feedback from many agencies that have struggled, in the past, to understand this complex subject in a way that helps them to understand the plight of survivors in their bid to offer support.

Little Voice Communications Ltd, a small web and graphic design company based in Forfar, Angus, designed the site.

R.A.N.S. is run by the Tayside Ritual Abuse Support and Help Project, a not for profit organisation which provides support and information for survivors of ritual and organised abuse, or any agencies who work with survivors. They work with people across the UK, and abroad, and can be contacted, in confidence, via their helpline, which is open all weekdays from 10am to 2.30pm, or via their website www.rans.org.uk.

Notes for editors

Ritual abuse can be defined as organised sexual, physical, and psychological abuse, which can be systematic and sustained over a long period. It involves the use of rituals, with or without a belief system. It usually involves more than one person as abusers. Ritual abuse usually starts in early childhood and involves using patterns of learning and development to sustain the abuse and silence the abused. To learn more, please visit the R.A.N.S. website, or call Jo Findlay on 01382 207667.
